The cutest town ever.
Naoussa was the most popular cities mentioned online and through the locals. It is a village in the Cyclades of Paros. If you’re looking for the most picturesque place to take AMAZEBALL PHOTOS then this definitely is the place to be in Paros.
These photos were taken just walking around in the town. Everything is really close. There are so many restaurants with a view of the harbor. I loved how clean, and decorative each house was. It gives off such a friendly atmosphere, I’ve never felt so calm and peaceful before. The locals were very kind as well. You can tell that they value tourists coming and admiring their homes because they were saying hello to us with a smile. If it was my house I’d be like “what you lookin at” LOL. (Hawaii probs)
Greek food.
If you’re a foodie then this is the right place to be to find the yummiest greek food! Let’s just be real, I CAN EAT SOUVLAKI EVERY DAY, but I had to try other Greek delicacies. If you don’t know what Souvlaki is, it’s meat, chips (fries), tzatziki, onions, and tomato wrapped in pita bread. It’s addicting. In the second and third picture that is eggplant, which was on every menu we went to in Paros. I LOVE EGGPLANT. The last picture was a mix of feta cheese, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and croutons (pretty much like bruschetta in a bowl) It was delicious!
Tips for those thinking of going to Paros
1. GET A SCOOTER
There is crazy traffic and no roads to escape it. We had a fiat and yes it was nice with AC, but we were stuck in traffic for half an hour. Scooters flew past us and I think that I would’ve sacrificed AC for dodging traffic any day. Plus, you would have an easier time parking when you are in places like Naoussa.
2. ADVENTURE IN THE MORNING OR EVENING, NOT MID-DAY
I am from Hawaii so I’m used to the heat, BUT the heat you feel at one o’clock in the middle of the day will give you a heat stroke (not literally). It’d just be better to avoid going out at these times because the pictures are also way nicer in a softer lighting.
3. BLUE STAR FERRIES
We took Blue Star Ferries from Athens to Paros and it was very luxurious. It takes about four hours so this was definitely the one to choose. There are many places to lounge, sleep, and eat on the ferry.
4. TAKE ONE DAY TO VISIT THE WHOLE ISLAND
It takes about 45-1 hr to get around the whole island with no traffic. I’d suggest taking one day to discover all the gems around the island before settling at one place. There are many beaches to see, and if you go to the ones that are crowded and charge you so much euro to just lounge then you’re missing out. There is much to see!
